The maintenance year

From the to-do list to the ramp.

How a scheduled event runs at KRBD, from the list you send to the aircraft leaving clean, and the work that goes on it.

  1. Before

    Send your to-do list

Inspections coming due, open squawks, ADs and service bulletins, anything else you want done while the aircraft is down. We quote from the list.

  2. Booking

    Lock the slot

A 50% deposit reserves the hangar slot and the crew capacity. It counts toward the project invoice.

  3. Arrival

    Bring the aircraft in

Fly into KRBD during hangar hours or any time after. Jet Access FBO (817-532-5080) supports arrivals 24/7. Let the Jets MRO team know you're inbound.

  4. In the hangar

    Work and updates

The package is worked seven days a week. You get maintenance updates while the aircraft is in the hangar.

  5. Leaving

    Clean and return to service

Our in-house cleaning partner cleans the cabin and exterior before the aircraft leaves, at no charge. A higher level of cleaning is available at cost.

What’s in scope

If the aircraft is down anyway, add the rest. It all goes on one to-do list and one quote.

What goes on the work package

Jets MRO runs scheduled maintenance for business jets from a 40,000 sq ft hangar at Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD), under FAA Part 145 repair station certificate JROR542E. The work is what your maintenance program calls for: major and minor inspections, AD and service bulletin compliance, component replacements, repairs and alterations. It’s done to the FARs, your approved maintenance program and the manufacturer’s maintenance data.

The shop concentrates on four families: Citation, Challenger, Learjet and Hawker 400 / Beechjet. On the Challenger 300 that means events like the 24/36/48-month inspections. On the Learjet 40 and 45 it means the 12-year/12,000-hour and 3,000/6,000 landing-cycle inspections, the 20,000-hour flight control replacement and, on the 40 series, the 8-year detailed landing gear inspection. Engine and APU work, including the Honeywell TFE731, goes on the same to-do list.

If the aircraft is down anyway, add the rest. Avionics squawks and upgrades belong on the list too (avionics), and so do cabin and paint items (interiors and paint).

Seven days, one rate

The hangar is open Monday through Sunday, 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM Central. Weekends are normal operating days, so Saturday and Sunday labor is billed at the same $150/hr as a Tuesday. If you need the schedule compressed for a special reason, ask for overtime in advance. It’s billed at 1.5x.

You can deliver the aircraft outside those hours. Arrivals are supported 24/7 through Jet Access FBO at KRBD. If something breaks between events, the AOG line is (214) 305-9247 Ext. 1, answered 24/7.

The numbers, up front

Jets MRO publishes its rates in the FAQ, and they apply here. A 50% deposit locks the slot and is credited to the invoice. Parts we supply carry a 17% markup, capped at $10,000 per project. You can supply your own parts for a $250 handling fee each, with the understanding that we aren’t responsible for delays or failures those parts cause.

While it’s in the hangar

You get maintenance updates while the aircraft is with us, not just a call when it’s done. Before it leaves, our in-house cleaning partner cleans it inside and out at no charge.

To start, send the to-do list. Include what’s coming due, what’s been written up, and when the aircraft has to be back on the line.
